Gina qualified as a veterinary nurse in Northern Ireland in 2008 and then gained her Diploma in Advanced Veterinary Nursing in small animals, before joining the RVC’s Queen Mother Hospital for Animals in 2011 as the Senior Medicine Nurse. Gina won the BSAVA nurse abstract award in 2015 for complications associated with intravenous catheter placement, before becoming the Head Medicine Nurse at the hospital in 2016. In 2019 Gina gained a PgCert in Veterinary Education and in July completed her post graduate diploma. She joined the RVC VN school as a educator in medical nursing and currently teaches the CertAVN in Medical nursing as a teaching fellow. Gina currently leads a team of 24 medicine nurses and has a special interest in endocrine nursing and infectious disease cases.

Lisa joined the Royal Veterinary College's, Queen Mother Hospital for Animals as a dedicated anaesthesia nurse in February 2010. Previous to this, Lisa spent 7 years in a busy primary care practice. In 2013, Lisa was promoted to Head Anaesthesia Nurse and now leads a team of anaesthesia nurses and patient care assistants. In 2012 Lisa became board certified as a Veterinary Technician Specialist in Anaesthesia and Analgesia, and in 2020 Lisa studied for, and graduated with a Post Graduate certificate in Veterinary Education and became a member of the FHEA. Lisa has lectured on many anaesthesia topics both nationally and internationally, as well as authoring articles and has recently contributed two chapters in an anaesthesia nursing text book. Lisa has a keen interest in pain management and is passionate about promoting and inspiring nurses to learn new skills and start performing local anaesthetic techniques.

She moved to the Midlands where and worked in a mixed practice for 2 years before returning to the University of Bristol as Senior ICU nurse. She spent 3.5 years back at Bristol and gained the VTS(ECC) qualification in 2012. In 2013 she moved to London and joined the Royal Veterinary College Emergency and Critical Care team and worked as both Senior and Head ECC Nurse. In 2019 she completed a PGCert in Veterinary Education and became a member of the FHEA. In 2020 she stepped down as head nurse and back into the team to regain a focus on clinical work and mentoring the students on clinical rotations. In 2023 she joined the anaesthesia team to develop a new knowledge and skill set. She has lectured internationally, written numerous articles and also contributed to book chapters. She is on the editorial committee for The Veterinary Nurse in addition to volunteering for EVECCS.

Donna is a former Scotland Women’s Rugby International, capped 115 times for Scotland, currently the most capped Scottish player. She is also a seasoned commercial executive in the veterinary sector with over 30 years of experience. Renowned for her leadership skills, she has consistently driven growth and cultivated successful teams. Donna now works for “The Vet Consultancy” as a Performance Coach and Business Consultant alongside Gill Burkhill and Nicki Daw. Donna believes that business can learn a lot from high performance sports teams and she uses this unique approach when tackling and solving issues in veterinary practice.
