MANUKAtex is a permeable acetate gauze impregnated with 100% active Leptospermum Scorparium manuka honey. The L. Scoparium honey used in the dressing is a high potency honey of Methylglyoxal (MGO) 560+ mg/kg with a pH of 3.0 – 4.5. It is flexible and comfortable on wounds. The acetate gauze allows absorption of wound fluid and its constituents whilst providing a moist environment to support wound healing. The high MGO factor and strong osmotic draw of the honey assist in autolytic debridement
[Product-availability]
Description
Suitable as a primary dressing for partial and full thickness tissue injuries, with minimal exudate. Non-adhesive, dry dressing which can be pre-moistened with MANUKApli as required. The gauze is sticky in texture due to impregnation of honey.

Directions for us –

Prior to application of the dressing, cleanse the wound as usual with an appropriate wound cleanser or sterile saline, and pat dry the wound edges. Select a dressing that will allow the wound contact area to completely cover the wound without extending onto healing tissue. Remove the sterile dressing from the package. Remove either plastic film backing from the gauze and apply to the wound bed. Either side of exposed gauze can be applied to the wound bed. If required apply MANUKApli to the wound bed or gauze. Carefully smooth around the edge of the dressing to ensure good contact to the wound bed. Once the dressing is securely in place, peel away the other side of the backing material from the dressing. A secondary dressing can be used to absorb wound fluid that will pass through the gauze. To remove the dressing, gently lift the corners of the dressing away from the wound. Reapply as needed.
