MANUKAgel is soothing and cooling gel, formulated with 70% active Leptospermum Scorparium manuka honey, with a high potency of Methylglyoxal (MGO) 560+ mg/kg and a pH of 3.0 – 4.5. It can be applied directly to wound beds, and used in conjunction with: MANUKAhd, MANUKAhdLite and MANUKAtex. Isolates exudate and debris and segregates it from the wound surface. The high MGO factor and strong osmotic draw of the honey reduces wound bed pH and assists in autolytic debridement.
[Product-availability]
Description
Suitable as a primary dressing for partial tissue damage, including minor burn wounds, with minimal exudate production. A secondary dressing will be required if not used with MANUKAhd or MANUKAhdLite. Tubes are resealable, allowing for product assignment to patients. Directions for use –  Prior to application of the honey, cleanse the wound as usual with an appropriate wound cleanser or sterile saline, and pat dry the wound edges. Apply enough MANUKAgel to completely cover the wound without extending onto healing tissue. Can be applied directly onto wound bed or dressing. Reapply as needed.
